Job Description
We are hiring a medical assistant to assist with administrative duties at our facility. The successful candidate will gather patient records and test results, manage daily administrative tasks, prepare exam rooms, and assist doctors during procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed a medical assistant program and have at least one to two years of experience in a medical setting. Having a basic understanding of patient care and medical terminology is also important.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and test results while keeping information confidential.
- Manage daily administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, checking in and out patients, and updating medical records.
- Prepare exam rooms for procedures and support doctors during medical treatments.
- Provide compassionate care and assistance to patients and their families.
- Follow all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Administer medications to patients as directed by doctors.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Completed a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program.
- One to two years of experience in a medical setting.
- High school diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and clinical pharmacology.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
