User Experience Designer/Scrum Master - Contingent

This role is contingent on Award, role projected to start 6/9/25

Aretum is seeking a creative and driven User Experience Designer/Scrum Master to join our team on a contingent basis. In this dual role, you will not only focus on enhancing user experience through thoughtful design but also guide our Agile team in the implementation of the Scrum framework. Your unique combination of design expertise and leadership will ensure that user-centered design principles are at the forefront of our project delivery.

As a User Experience Designer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create engaging and user-friendly interfaces for various applications, primarily serving our government clients. As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate Scrum processes, ensuring teams collaborate effectively to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs and project requirements. Through mentorship and guidance, you will empower teams to adopt Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.

• Design and prototype intuitive and engaging user interfaces based on user research and feedback.
• Conduct usability testing and workshops to gather insights for design improvements.
• Leverage UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD to create wireframes and mockups.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
• Guide and mentor team members in Agile best practices, ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to ensure alignment on design specifications and project goals.
• Analyze user engagement metrics and feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on existing designs.
• Foster an environment of collaboration and open communication within the team.

Requirements

• Expert in Agile based product development
• Develop and manage project plan
• Lead and manage Agile team and all Agile (Scrum/Kanban) ceremonies
• User Research
• Wireframing
• Prototyping
• Identifying and solving design problems
• Ability to work with end users and communicate user experience to stakeholders
• Experience with UX design best practices
• Expertise in UX software such as: Figma(required), Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, and Sketch
• Experience in applying and modifying design systems for enterprises with large applications
• Experience in user experience design for large online applications
• Experience in user experience design for Mobile applications on iOS, Android and FireOS platforms
