SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment in several maintenance systems (i.e.) machining, electrical, plumbing, or welding. Must maintain a full general tool assortment as well as a basic assortment of precision measuring tools. General qualifications include but are not limited to the following: to ensure all safety and work rules are followed. Must be responsible for maintenance of equipment records, and administration of preventative maintenance programs. Must be able to read blueprints and plans for construction at plant level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Machinery Operation: Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drilling presses, and grinders to produce or repair mechanical parts.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining requirements and sequences of operations.
• Quality Control: Measure and inspect finished products using precision tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all equipment not requiring a technician in a minimum amount of time.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics and document any deviations from standard specifications.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proficiency in using manual machining tools and understanding of measurement tools and their applications.
• Must be able to operate and maintain all equipment at Parker.
• Responsible for proper administration of LOTO, confined space, and other OSHA guidelines.
• May assist in design of process or modification of existing equipment.
• Must be able to follow instructions and handle challenging tasks in stride.
• May function in other duties when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education required/ preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.

Experience:

At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is typically required.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with vendors concerning technical problems.
• Must have the ability to plan and organize tasks efficiently.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency.
• Must have the skills necessary to have a practical and demonstrated understanding of a specific trade skill, with a working knowledge of one or more additional specific skills.
• Must have an and understanding of low-pressure steam applications, high-pressure water, high-pressure hydraulic, pneumatic, with the ability to troubleshoot these systems.

Skills/Competencies:

1. Basic computer skills ? Microsoft Office package

2. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

3. Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools

4. Knowledge of light machine shop tools

Other Skills:

• Must be willing to share knowledge and efficiently train others. Must be able to direct maintenance personnel and production employees in a team player atmosphere.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on producing high-quality work and adhering to safety protocols.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery and production processes.

• Report directly to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager
• Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

+ Required PPE:

• Safety glasses
• ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes
• Standing is required for extended periods of time. Carrying, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, stooping, and grasping are performed on an occasional basis.
• Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
• Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
• Must be able to work in a factory environment with exposure to welding arcs, welding gases, steam, high voltage, inclement weather, heights, high water pressure, confined spaces, and unguarded machinery for troubleshooting
