Legal Counsel

This position provides in-house legal support for EAA?s activities; serves as a trusted advisor to EAA?s business leaders and supports the legal department. The position reports directly to the General Counsel.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Broad legal background, with strengths and expertise in commercial and contract law matters, and ability to gain competence quickly in unfamiliar fields.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Successful completion of the Wisconsin State Bar exam, qualified for admission to State Bar of Wisconsin through reciprocity or eligible for admission to the Wisconsin State Bar
• 1+ years of commercial law experience, as in-house counsel or in a high-quality law firm
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to handle and manage multiple projects, to reprioritize and respond on a timely basis to urgent organization demands and to monitor results
• Strong work ethic, including ability to work extended hours during required periods
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to translate legal issues into clear guidance for non-lawyers
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel and Outlook

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest and involvement in aviation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
