This position will be a key partner in Reporting directly to the North American Legal team in support of the company?s continued corporate growth, including advising on logistics, operations, Human Resources, and finance matters. The position will provide legal advice to a broad range of internal clients and actively negotiate contracts with counterparties. This position reports to General Counsel of Midea America.North America, this senior role leverages 10+ years of broad-based legal experience to manage significant risks, drive key initiatives, mentor junior legal staff, and support business objectives within the consumer goods and manufacturing sectors. Requires deep expertise in CPSC regulations, commercial transactions, manufacturing law, and contract management.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements across multiple functions, including Human Resources, Aftersales, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, and other support departments, as well as confidentiality agreements.
- Provide legal guidance to Human Resources
- Product Safety (CPSC): Advise on matters such as employee relations, performance management, investigations, compliance with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regulations, including safety standards (e.g., CPSIA, FHSA), recall protocols, incident reporting (Sec. 15(b)), and employment disputes.product labeling requirements. Collaborate with product/QA teams on risk assessments.

- Dispute Resolution: Manage pre-litigation disputes and outside counsel, including settlement negotiations, participation in mediations, and drafting or reviewing settlement and release agreements.

\ - Advise on general
- Employment Law: Provide legal guidance to Human Resources on matters such as employee relations, performance management, investigations, and business matters, including internal issues, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, compliance, and strategic decision-making.employment disputes.

\ - Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, distribution, negotiation, execution,
- Risk Management: Advise on legal aspects of manufacturing operations, product development, intellectual property protection, and record management.regulatory affairs.

\ - Lead communications and processes related to contract disputes, terminations, and renewals

\ - Stakeholder Support: Advise cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Supply Chain) on legal risks in business initiatives.

- 6+ years of substantive commercial transactional experience, with a focus on relevant agreements either at a
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law firm, in-house or a combination of both. Experience in the appliance industry is preferred.school.

\ - Demonstrated contract drafting skills, with strong negotiation and analytical skills, as well as business acumen.
- Active member, in good standing, of the New Jersey Bar or be able to obtain an in-house license in 6 months.

- Experience: 10+ years of the New Jer Bar progressive, relevant legal experience, preferably with significant in-house counsel experience at a multinational manufacturing or be able to obtain an in house license in 6 months.consumer goods company.
