Job Overview:

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our team at a leading diamond jewelry company. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management, coordinating stock counts, and working closely with internal stakeholders to maintain efficient inventory systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory control, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the maintenance and organization of inventory items, including ensuring that stock levels are accurate, managing product movements, and maintaining updated records.
  • Inventory Record Maintenance: Check received orders against stock and inventory records to ensure accurate inventory levels and prevent discrepancies. Work with our technology systems to maintain detailed records of goods. Ensure daily information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Stock Counting: Coordinate regular stock counts, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory levels. Lead and schedule regular hand counts to verify stock accuracy.
  • Discrepancy Monitoring: Monitor inventory discrepancies, analyze root causes, and implement solutions to resolve any issues related to stock discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Create regular reports on inventory performance and analyze financial performance against target metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to the sales and back-office teams based on data analysis.
  • Stock Turnover Monitoring and Replenishment: Monitor shelf stock turnover rates and provide recommendations to the merchandising team to improve product flow, minimize excess stock, and optimize stock rotation. Collaborate with the back-office team to support the replenishment process, ensuring that stock levels are maintained efficiently and that reordering processes are executed on time.
  • Obsolescence Management: Determine criteria for identifying obsolete inventory items, manage the process of regular inventory retirement, and ensure that obsolete stock is properly handled.
  • Inventory Audits and Reporting: Schedule and lead inventory audits, ensuring compliance with company standards, and report on any inventory variances or issues.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams, including the back-office, sales, and QC departments to ensure smooth inventory operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related field within wholesale jewelry.
  • High integrity, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to treat high value inventory items with care and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in using inventory management systems and other related software.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of inventory best practices, financial experience a plus.
  • Ability to lead stock counts and audits with accuracy and precision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to inventory management.
