Special Education Teacher

The daily pay rate for a special education Teacher is $500 per day!

CURRENT NEED:

• These positions will be located at various programs throughout Chester County, PA
• Part-time and full-time options available as well as flexible days would be considered
• Great opportunity for recent retirees!

RESPONSIBITLITIES:

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill and subject areas
• Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
• When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
• Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students

Requirements

QUALFICATIONS:

• Bachelors level degree in education required
• Valid PA Special Education Certificate (7-12 or N-12) required; Valid PA Instructional Certificate also required if Special Ed Cert is 7-12
• Experience working with special education students preferred
• Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in school, community, or residential setting preferred

• PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
• PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
• PA Department of EducationFBIUse code1KG6XN
• TB Screening (current within 3 months)
• Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
• Valid PDE certification

The Special Education Teacher is an independent contract (1099) position. No benefits are associated with this role.
