Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Kuiper Electronic Supply Chain team is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Operations Technical Program Management (OPM) team.

This team is responsible for technical manufacturing and procurement operations across the supply base for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) destined for our satellites. The successful candidate will solve for the long-term needs of the supply base while remaining deeply engaged in the management of daily product delivery.

Key job responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Program Managers

Ensure hardware is delivered to support production schedules identifying, tracking, and resolving risks to delivery with cross functional teams as necessary

Protect future deliveries through detailed and proactive evaluation of supplier production lines for capacity and manufacturing quality

Report status to senior leadership in a clear and succinct manner

Develop and implement best practices within the team while ingesting and replicating best practices from other teams

Lead team to execute annual improvement plans

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of technical product or program management experience

10+ years of direct working experience with engineering teams

Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high-performing teams

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Deep technical understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, materials, and quality requirements for space-grade electronics

Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.

Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to guide the team

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Engineering or related technical field

Demonstrated experience managing suppliers or supply base

Experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering disciplines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
