Program Security Manager, Kuiper, Supply Chain & IP Security

The Supply Chain and Intellectual Property Security (SCIPS) team is seeking a Program Security Manager who is able to develop, implement, and lead security projects and programs to support the Amazon Project Kuiper team. Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This position will provide IP protection strategic guidance to Kuiper research and development (R&D) teams, manufacturing teams, and product management teams, to ensure end to end IP protection. To be successful in this position the Program Security Manager must have the ability to learn Amazon?s product development process, build strong relationships with key business teams, develop and innovate solutions to enable automation of manual data entry processes. The Program Security Manager must have a solid understanding of data collection methods and data analysis, to inform programmatic decision making and policy direction.

This position will report to the Sr. IP Protection Manager.

Key job responsibilities

Support the deployment of a comprehensive IP program protection plan and overarching program

Facilitate discussion and implementation of security strategy among project stakeholders across the stakeholder groups.

Develop innovative and automated solutions for fast evolving security risks in an manufacturing and R&D environment

Partner with cross functional security peers to develop and implement appropriate policies to meet the needs of the Kuiper business teams

Serve as the embedded Prototype Security liaison to connect business stakeholders with Prototype Security programs and services

Develop and assist in the implementation of standards, policies, and procedures for Kuiper Security

Assist and support any contract security management activity as assigned

Serve as the subject matter security expert to internal business stakeholders on IP Protection, supply chain risk, go-to-market strategy, confidentiality, and additional stages of product development

Maintain close coordination, planning, and communication with internal and external stakeholders around all aspects of the product/prototype life cycle (idea inception through finished product/prototype) security initiatives and training

Manage multiple concurrent projects and inquiries under tight deadlines

Budget management for all budget items within the scope of this role

Support launch security operations as assigned

Able to stand/walk for several hours a day and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation

Work cross functionally with peers in Legal, Hardware, Supply Chain Ops, Trade & Compliance, EHS, Kuiper business, and Security to establish scalable Prototype Security standards

Travel to various sites to review and audit security infrastructure and support onsite security awareness initiatives and events

Respond to crisis, emergency and/or disaster recovery issues that have impact on prototype development

Support Business Continuity planning and process implementation for product teams and Prototype Security team

Actively evaluate, analyze, and use metrics collected to proactively inform programmatic needs and policy decisions

Basic Qualifications

4+ year experience in consumer product security, corporate security management, law enforcement, risk management, legal, or related industries

Ability to work in an in-office environment, physical presence in the office is required

Intellectual Property Protection working knowledge or expertise

Experience in R&D environment

Domestic and international travel may be required (20-30% of time)

Preferred Qualifications

Has work experience in Industrial Security Design Implementation or Security Industry Standards

Experience operationalizing policies and best practices for areas such as Intellectual Prototype security, and security controls or risk management frameworks

Proficiency in computer applications, general understanding of security systems, and general technical aptitude through demonstrated experience

Demonstrated ownership and willingness to dive in and do what it takes to achieve the team?s end goals Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing customer needs, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced environment

Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market.
