Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Position Overview

As a Podiatrist within the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospital Network, you will diagnose and treat foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in a psychiatric healthcare environment, addressing both physical and mental health needs of the patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform focused medical histories and physical exams
  • Diagnose and treat podiatric conditions such as bunions, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot ulcers
  • Conduct minor surgical procedures (e.g., ingrown toenail removal)
  • Prescribe orthotics, medications, and other interventions
  • Collaborate with psychiatric and medical teams to support overall patient wellness
  • Educate patients on foot hygiene and preventive care
  • Maintain accurate and compliant electronic health records

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited program
  • Licensure: Active Indiana state podiatry license and DEA certification
  • Experience: Completion of a podiatric residency program
  • Skills:
    • Minor surgical procedures (non-operating room)
    • Orthotic prescriptions and therapeutic treatments
    • Diabetic foot care and preventive education
  • Soft Skills:
    • Effective communication and patient education
    • Empathy and adaptability in psychiatric care settings
