Cost Analyst/ Lead Accountant

1Resource Groupis working with a well-established and growing construction company in Evansville, Indiana, to identify a Cost Analyst/Lead Accountant. This supports the Controller and is key in ensuring the accuracy and clarity of financial data used by project and operations teams. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working across functions, and is comfortable taking on various responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting
• Handle AR billing, balance sheet reconciliations, and general accounting tasks
• Ensure data accuracy within Viewpoint or similar ERP systems
• Analyze financial trends and present clear, actionable reporting
• Assist with audit prep and handle overtime during busy periods (FebApr & SepDec)
• Serve as a backup to other accounting staff as needed

Work schedule: Busy season 50+hr work week and slow season 40-50hr work week.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-6+ years of accounting experience
• Construction or craft industry background
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Viewpoint experience is a plus)
• Strong understanding of job costing and WIP
• CPA preferred but not required
• Comfortable working in-office and supporting multiple priorities
