Patent Prosecution and Trademark Associate Attorney

This practice provides comprehensive strategic counseling in patent and trademark law, enabling clients to achieve their business goals throughout the innovation lifecycle. The team advises clients on clearing, prosecuting, and managing trademark rights, enforcing their brand rights, and licensing brand portfolios. Additionally, they help clients navigate the complexities of trademark protection in various industries.

Responsibilities

The associate will:

• Conduct and evaluate U.S. and global trademark clearance searches.
• Draft identification of goods/services, evaluate specimens, and prepare office action responses for the USPTO.
• Counsel clients on Madrid Protocol filings.
• Handle enforcement investigations, draft cease and desist letters, and negotiate trademark settlement and coexistence agreements.
• Draft trademark, copyright, and NIL licenses and assignments.
• Provide counsel on domain name enforcement, including drafting UDRP complaints.
• Review and clear content for use on social media and in digital marketing.
• Offer diligence and corporate transaction support on trademark, copyright, and domain matters.

Qualifications

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to or eligibility for admission in California or New York.
• 2+ years of trademark experience focused on clearance, prosecution, and enforcement.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $235,000 to $310,000, with bonus eligibility. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package.
