Mechanical Quality Inspector

VadaTech is a world leader in the design and manufacture of embedded computing solutions. Due to growth, we are seeking candidates for Mechanical Quality Inspector. This role will perform various inspections of sheet metal, machines, powder coat painted parts, weldments and other mechanical fabricated parts and assemblies using manual, digital and automated inspection equipment,

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts, sheet metal parts and other mechanical items
• Perform inspection with handheld cmm (Keyence xm5000)
• Perform inspection with 3d scanner (Keyence vl700)
• Perform inspection with optical profilometer (Keyence vr6000)
• Must be comfortable with the use of, at minimum: calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread gages, and height gages. knowing the proper application of each inspection tool
• Welding inspection per industry and print requirements
• Perform in-process inspections on manufacturing floor
• Perform inspection of powder coat parts per ASTM standards using various inspection equipment
• Perform visual inspection of exterior finishes
• Reviewing certs on inbound product from suppliers (both raw materials and outside processing)
• Generate non-conforming material reports and other quality reports as required
• Working with production and engineering to resolve any noted quality issues/nonconformances
• Maintain production efficiency levels by quickly and accurately processing product and inspections
• Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, with an understanding of gd&t ASME Y14.5
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and standards a plus!
• Able to perform data entry and navigate an ERP system. experience with Proshop a plus.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 8 years of related experience, preferably with metal parts preferred
• Experience with Keyence XM, VL and VR equipment is a major plus
• Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning & tolerance, in accordance with ASME Y14.5
• Experience working in an ISO/Aerospace environment a plus
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
• Hard working and a desire to learn
• AWS Certified Weld Inspector a plus
