Job Title: Fundraising Associate

Location: Remote in India

We are seeking a proactive Fundraising Associate to lead our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role involves managing grant proposals, donor reporting, and high-net-worth individual (HNI) fundraising, ensuring seamless communication, stewardship, and compliance with donor requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProposal Writing and Grant Applications

  • Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and concept notes tailored to various funding opportunities, including foundations and HNIs.
  • Develop funding proposals aligned with Samayu's mission, values, and program goals.
  • Incorporate data, research, and impact stories to strengthen applications and appeals.

HNI Fundraising and Relationship Management

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with HNIs, corporate donors, and individual philanthropists.
  • Create tailored engagement strategies and personalized communication for HNIs, ensuring alignment with their philanthropic goals.
  • Coordinate meetings and events to foster relationships with potential and existing donors.

Donor Reporting and Stewardship

  • Prepare and submit timely, detailed, and impactful donor reports showcasing program outcomes and fund utilization.
  • Maintain an updated calendar of donor reporting and compliance requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manage ongoing donor communications, ensuring transparency, gratitude, and alignment with donor expectations.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with program teams to gather data, project updates, and financial details for donor communications and proposals.
  • Coordinate with the leadership team to identify funding priorities and align donor strategies with organizational goals.

Systems and Tracking

  • Develop and maintain a structured tracking system for proposals, donor outcomes, and reporting schedules.
  • Organize and maintain a repository of donor documents, agreements, and communications.

Qualifications and SkillsEducation and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related fields.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor engagement for nonprofits, including experience with HNI fundraising.

Skills

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in donor management tools and tracking systems.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain donor relationships, especially with HNIs and corporate donors.
  • Passion for Samayu's mission and commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and donor management software.
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms is a plus.
