Job Title: Field Intern

About the Project:
The Field Intern will support the project "Promoting Multi-Species Coexistence: Addressing Human-Dog Conflict in Urban and Peri-Urban Areas of Ghaziabad City, Uttar Pradesh." This initiative focuses on fostering humane and safe coexistence between humans and street dogs through education, research, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Research & Data Collection:
- Conduct surveys and collect baseline data on human-dog interactions, feeding practices, and public attitudes.
- Assist in analyzing trends related to urban planning, waste management, and human-dog conflict.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Assist in organizing workshops and awareness sessions for medical professionals, urban planners, animal welfare organizations, and local communities.
- Support outreach efforts with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), school children, and government authorities to promote responsible dog feeding and safety practices.
- Public Awareness & Education:
- Assist in conducting educational programs, including school sessions, community meetings, and social media outreach.
- Support with inputs for the development of communication materials such as pamphlets, posters, and social media content.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning and coordinating stakeholder convenings, training programs, and awareness campaigns in the field.
- Provide logistical support for online and offline events.
- Policy & Advocacy Support:
- Assist in gathering data and insights for policy recommendations related to urban planning and street dog management.
- Support advocacy efforts to promote multispecies coexistence strategies in local governance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Social Work, Urban Planning, Veterinary Science, or related fields.
- Strong research and analytical skills with experience in data collection and stakeholder communication.
- Interest in animal welfare, public health, and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and travel within Ghaziabad as needed.
- Experience with MS Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms is a plus.
