Family Home Agencies (FHA) Specialist - Community Services

Salary Range: $60,385.00 - $72,462.00 Annually

GGRC is currently hiring for a FHA specialist. This role works with Family Home Agencies (FHAs) to assess resident capacity, maintain and continually improve quality of service in general, and focus on culturally responsive services. Assists with the development of additional FHAs as an available community living option in underserved areas.

What you'll Do:

  • Coordinate quality assurance(QA) oversight activities including unannounced visits.
  • Perform annual QA reviews and respond to program quality concerns as needed.
  • Act as a liaison for all Department of Developmental Services (DDS) FHA audit activities including pre-audit preparation, point of contact during DDS audits, and coordination of response/follow up post audit as needed.
  • Coordinate training efforts including the development of "train the trainer" training modules in key areas, including but not limited to, supporting medication administration, person centered practices, assessment of health and safety support needs, etc.
  • Facilitate quarterly FHA meetings in collaboration with other relevant GGRC departments.
  • Work with FHAs to proactively identify, plan for, and address concerns within the agencies in the areas of ongoing quality assurance, internal FHA case management, leadership and administrative infrastructure, anticipated expansion and development impact and needs, and provision of culturally responsive services.
  • Facilitate FHA Request for Proposal process and vendorization of new FHAs.
  • Work collaboratively with others in Community Services and Social Work Services to identify future housing needs; proactively plan FHA growth in the GGRC region.
  • Conduct internal and community trainings on the FHA model to contribute to knowledge of housing options in the SF bay area and serve as a guest trainer to FHA home provider trainings when appropriate.
  • Participate in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned.
  • Maintain all client information as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Work, Social Services, or related human services field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Experience with the development of new programs
  • Experience giving trainings or presentations

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with the CA developmental disabilities service system or regional center system
  • Experience with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with program development and/or consultation
  • Knowledge of inclusive, person centered practices
  • Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity

Skills

  • Program design, development, assessment and evaluation
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people from different department
  • Ability to convey complex information and ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner orally and in writing
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment, including scanners, copiers, faxes, phones
  • Basic familiarity with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook® or similar software application
