Job Description
The NC Real Estate Commission is an independent state governmental agency. The primary function of the Commission is to license and regulate real estate agents (persons and firms who sell, lease, etc. real estate for others).
The Commission is seeking a skilled legal professional with a passion for public service and regulatory enforcement to serve as a Deputy Legal Counsel to lead the prosecution of complex complaints involving violations of the North Carolina Real Estate License Law and Commission rules.
What You'll Do:
- Prosecute intricate cases before the Commission, including drafting notices of hearing, subpoenas, stipulations, orders, appeal briefs, and other legal documents.
- Evaluate case readiness for closure or Commission review, determining whether disciplinary action is warranted.
- Provide strategic consultation to staff on investigative direction and legal action.
- Ensure thorough legal research and case preparation for administrative hearings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Considerable years of progressively responsible professional legal experience, including litigation.
- Law degree from a recognized school of law.
- Licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina
- Successful completion of State Bar required hours of annual CLE credits.
