Beveridge & Diamond seeks a Conflicts/NBI/Staff Attorney to support the General Counsel, NBI Committee, and Opinions & Governance Committee. This role supports firm-wide risk management by managing the end-to-end conflicts and new business intake process, ensuring compliance with ethical obligations across jurisdictions, and reviewing/negotiating firm commercial contracts. The attorney will also lead training initiatives and maintain and update firm templates and documentation. Key Responsibilities Conflicts & NBI Workflow Management: Use Intapp Open to manage new client/matter intake, conflicts checks for attorney hiring, and ongoing matters. Analyze conflicts reports, resolve legal/ethical issues, draft waivers, and ensure compliance with firm policies and professional conduct rules. Document Review & Drafting: Review engagement letters, conflict waivers, screening memos, and outside counsel guidelines. Draft and maintain templates and documentation for approvals and compliance. Engage with internal and client contacts to resolve issues. Contract Review & Negotiation: Review and negotiate commercial contracts for firm operations. Develop templates and collaborate with the Opinions & Governance Committee or General Counsel on complex issues. Client Compliance Surveys & Outside Counsel Guideline Compliance: Coordinate responses to client compliance surveys and policy inquiries. Manage updates to engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines in collaboration with attorneys and administrative teams. New Hire Conflict Checks & Ethical Walls: Lead conflict checks for new timekeepers. Apply and manage Intapp Walls to enforce ethical screens, adjusting configurations as needed. Policy & Training Support: Research and communicate guidance on conflicts and NBI issues. Develop and deliver training programs for attorneys and staff. Reporting & Metrics: Generate reports from Intapp to support workflow analysis and assist the CBDMO with client/matter metrics. Supervision: Oversee the Conflicts Analyst, including performance evaluations. Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Education: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admitted and in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction (preference for states where B&D has offices). Experience: Minimum 7 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years of direct experience in conflicts and new business intake management within a law firm or legal environment. Must have significant experience with Intapp Open and Intapp Walls, and demonstrated ability to handle complex conflict analysis, ethical compliance, and contract review. Prior experience in environmental or litigation practice areas is strongly preferred. Supervisory Experience: Must have at least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, including performance management responsibilities. This role directly oversees a Conflicts Analyst and requires the ability to effectively manage, mentor, and evaluate staff. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Intapp Open/Walls and iManage Work. Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Rules of Professional Conduct across jurisdictions. Familiarity with corporate structures, finance, and litigation processes. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex legal issues and draft clear, effective documentation. Work Style: Independent, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment Hybrid model with a minimum of three in-office days per week. Some travel may be required for training and meetings. While Washington, DC is the preferred location for this role, we are open to candidates residing in another market where B&D has an established office. Compensation In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $210,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. The compensation for this position may also include discretionary performance and productivity bonuses.
