CDL-Litter Cleanout

Prestage Farms is hiring a hardworking, dependable individual to perform manual litter cleanout work in turkey brooder houses. This is a physically demanding, hands-on job that requires strength, stamina, and a commitment to getting the job done right. You'll also need a valid CDL to haul the litter to designated disposal sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform physically intensive cleanout of turkey brooder houses, including shoveling, raking, and operating blowers
• Handle heavy materials and equipment in hot, dusty, and sometimes cramped environments
• Follow strict biosecurity protocols to prevent contamination
• Load and unload litter from trucks
• Safely operate tractor-trailer to transport litter to designated locations
• Secure tarps over loads before transport
• Clean and maintain truck and trailer daily
• Refuel and inspect equipment at the end of each shift
• Follow DOT and company driving regulations
• Accurately log hours and maintain driving records

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Valid CDL (Class A)
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs. repeatedly
• Comfortable working in dusty, hot, and physically demanding environments
• Ability to follow strict safety and biosecurity protocols without exception
• Previous farm or manual labor experience is strongly preferred
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to perform hands-on labor
• Must have reliable and consistently punctual
• Ability to drive long hours and travel as needed
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
• Clean driving record with no recent moving violations
• Able to remain calm and make sound decisions in unexpected conditions (e.g., traffic, weather)
• Willing to undergo background checks and drug screening
• Completion of Trucking School Certification or a minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience
