Associate - Personal Injury & Automobile Negligence Defense

Associate Attorney ? Personal Injury & Automobile Negligence Defense Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking an associate attorney for its Garden City, New York office with 3+ years of experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense litigation. This position requires a high level of motivation, flexibility, and initiative, as well as the ability to manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience handling automobile negligence actions, including UM/UIM and PIP claims, as well as exposure to defending other general civil actions. Strong judgment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a collegial, professional demeanor are essential. While the attorney will be based in the Garden City office, they will also work closely with colleagues across the firm?s footprint. Responsibilities include: Independently and collaboratively handling a litigation caseload focused on personal injury and automobile negligence defense. Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other litigation documents. Taking and defending depositions, appearing in court, and handling motion practice. Performing extensive legal research on complex coverage and liability issues, including UM/UIM and PIP matters. Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with client litigation guidelines. Meeting all litigation deadlines and case management obligations. Accurately recording and maintaining billable hours. Required Skills/Qualifications: Admitted to practice in the State of New York (NJ, CT, and/or PA admission is a plus). 3+ years of experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense litigation. Experience handling UM/UIM, PIP, and related civil defense matters. Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to producing high-quality, detail-oriented work. Federal Court experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Salary is commensurate with experience and skill set. For New York City Applicants: Salary range: $35.00 - $70.00/hr. ($72,800 - $145,600), plus potential annual discretionary bonus. The salary offered will depend upon the individual?s skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
