The HALO Trust is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and restoring communities affected by landmines and other weapons of war. With a mission to create safe and secure environments in some of the world's most vulnerable communities, we work tirelessly to remove landmines, cluster bombs, stockpiles of small arms, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Founded in 1988 with the goal of helping the people of Afghanistan, The HALO Trust has grown to become the world's largest humanitarian mine clearance organization. Our international staff of 7,500 (subject to slight variation) includes our UK headquarters, USA office, and programs in 30 countries and territories. We are a company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity in England (No. 2228587) and Scotland (No. SC037870).
Our work not only saves lives, but also has a lasting impact on local communities. By creating jobs for deminers, we help lift families out of poverty and pave the way for development and long-term stability. Our efforts have also allowed for the safe return of displaced communities to their homes, and opened up access to vital resources such as agricultural land and water sources.
The HALO Trust (USA), Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation, registered as a charity in Scotland (No. SC039625). Our office is located in Washington, DC, and we work closely with the US government and other partners to support our global mission.
At The HALO Trust, we are committed to using our expertise and resources to make a positive impact on the world. Through our dedicated staff and partnerships with governments and organizations, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by conflict and war. Together, we are working towards a safer, more secure future for all.
