Senior Network Engineer

Ellington Solutions is seeking out qualified candidates that will:

• Ensure the stability, security, and performance of the department's network infrastructure.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot complex network environments, including Layer 2 and 3 protocols, routers, switches, wireless systems, and load balancers.
• Maintain optimal data throughput by monitoring network activity and resolving performance issues.
• Monitor and troubleshoot connectivity across campus, roadside, backbone, LAN, Walk-in Centers, and third-party networks.
• Review network architecture and failover capabilities, recommending optimizations for performance and reliability.
• Implement security measures, including access controls, segmentation, and disaster recovery plans, ensuring compliance with SRCO policies and NIST best practices.
• Utilize SolarWinds for proactive network monitoring, troubleshooting, and management reporting dashboards.
• Manage patches and updates for routers, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure.
• Support Network and Security Operations in cloud architecture design, focusing on capacity, failover, stability, and security.
• Maintain inventory controls, update network diagrams, and manage change documentation.
• Assist SRCO in cybersecurity investigations, forensic analysis, and evidence preservation.

Requirements

The qualified candidate will have:

• U.S. Citizenship (Required)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA REQUIRED)
• Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA REQUIRED)
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Networks, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Alternatively, four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• A hands-on experience of five (5) to seven (7) years with Layer 2/3 routing protocols, including the ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Experience in deploying and managing routers and switches.
• Familiarity with Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud infrastructures, including AWS and Azure platforms.
• Proficient with Unix (RedHat), Windows, VMWare, and various other platforms.
