We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team focused on the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of mechanical tooling and automation systems. This role blends hands-on engineering work with strategic leadership in cost reduction, design simplification, and standard product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support development of standard mechanical designs used in tooling and automation systems
  • Implement cost reduction strategies and design simplification using engineering best practices (e.g., GD&T)
  • Manage tooling design release and follow-up through build and implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to support R&D initiatives
  • Track project budgets and timelines, reporting key findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers (no direct reports)
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with executive, director, and C-suite stakeholders
  • Travel as needed to customer sites, trade shows, and international group locations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in fast-paced automation environments
  • Proficiency with NX CAD software; FEA tools such as Ansys are a plus
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and design for manufacturability
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and improve product standards
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration skills
