Senior Accountant

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in?maintaining?the financial health and integrity of our organization. You will own key accounting functions ? from day-to-day transactional processes to monthly close and financial reporting ? while partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to drive accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our accounting operations. Responsibilities include:??

• Manage accounts receivable and collections processes to ensure?timely?and?accurate?invoicing?and cash application?

• Manage accounts payable and vendor payment workflows,?maintaining?strong vendor relationships and payment accuracy?

• Process payroll and perform related reconciliations to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time?

• Calculate and administer sales commissions in coordination with Sales and Finance teams?

• Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations to?maintain?real-time visibility into cash positioning?

• Lead the monthly accrual-based financial close process, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are met?

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations?in accordance with?GAAP?

• Maintain general ledger accuracy and?supporting?schedules?

• Assist?with financial reporting and month-end variance analysis for internal stakeholders?

• Support annual audit and tax preparation processes in collaboration with external advisors?

• Identify?and help implement improvements to accounting workflows, internal controls, and documentation?

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Leadership teams to support strategic financial decisions?

• We're?looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional who?thrives?in a dynamic environment and takes ownership of their work. The ideal candidate will bring:?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field?

• 3?5 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to full-cycle accounting?

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger management?

• Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial close processes.?Experience with Gusto for payroll processing is a plus.??

• Proficiency?with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel?

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities?

• Strong communication?skills with the ability to collaborate across departments?

• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus, but not?required?

• Must be?located?within commuting distance of Chicago, IL for hybrid work arrangement?

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annually
