Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide insights for financial planning.
Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee general ledger functions and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
Internal Controls:
Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
Insurance Accounting:
Handle premium accounting, claims reserves, and reinsurance transactions.
Analyze underwriting results and provide financial insights to management.
Support actuarial functions with accurate financial data.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve financial objectives.
Provide training on accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
