We are currently seeking a

Manager, Regulatory Affairs

(Pre-Market) to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead critical regulatory processes, drive cross-functional collaboration, and shape the future of Hill's products in compliance with U.S. and global regulations.

As the Manager, Regulatory Affairs (Pre-Market), you will ensure Hill?s products meet all regulatory requirements for research and development, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and sales across the U.S. and Canada. You will lead the regulatory claims team, oversee ingredient/raw material processes, monitor changes in the regulatory landscape, and build strong internal and external relationships. This role also includes managing and developing a high-performing regulatory team and implementing process improvements to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Claims Leadership:

Lead the regulatory claims team and oversee the marketing review process, ensuring compliance with regulations for on-pack and campaign claims.

Identify and address claims issues, providing strategic alternatives that align with business needs.

Propose and implement strategies to enhance cross-functional collaboration and process efficiencies.

Influence technical, business, and policy decisions through regulatory expertise.

Ingredient/Raw Material Regulatory Oversight:

Lead the regulatory ingredient team in the qualification, review, and documentation processes for new ingredients and suppliers.

Monitor and evaluate regulatory changes that impact Hill?s operations, advising the business on implications and strategies.

Stay informed on international developments affecting U.S. regulatory compliance and manufacturing.

Building Relationships and Advocacy:

Foster a collaborative environment across functions such as Marketing, Legal, Supply Chain, and New Product Innovation.

Represent Hill?s in trade associations (e.g., PFI, AFIA), advocating for initiatives that benefit Hill?s and the broader pet food industry.

Present critical regulatory information to senior business leaders to inform decision-making.

People Management and Operational Excellence:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of regulatory professionals, ensuring accountability and alignment with business goals.

Drive process improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and minimize risks.

Facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain a culture of continuous learning and development within the regulatory team.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Policy, Animal Sciences, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, with at least 5 years in pet food, food, OTC drugs, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.

Proven experience in preparing regulatory submissions, reviewing product claims, and interpreting product regulations.

Preferred:

Advanced degree (Master?s, PhD, or DVM) in Business, Policy, Animal Sciences, or related field.

Supervisory or management experience.

Expertise in interpreting AAFCO guidelines and U.S. regulations (e.g., FDA, CVM, USDA) with knowledge of international regulatory standards.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information to diverse audiences.

Exceptional collaboration, time management, and organizational skills.

Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $128,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
