We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a Nursing Home Surveyor / Complaint Investigator in New York, NY . In this contract/travel-based role, you'll conduct onsite surveys, surveillance, and complaint investigations to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations in long-term care facilities.

• Conduct surveys and complaint investigations at nursing homes, including abuse and neglect allegations
• Draft Statements of Deficiencies (SODs) using Principles of Documentation
• Monitor and assess compliance with Plans of Correction
• Input data into federal and state compliance systems
• Participate in immediate jeopardy monitoring and attend administrative hearings
• Adhere to all Department of Health policies, procedures, and scheduling requirements

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:

• Active New York State RN License required

Experience (One of the following required):

• 2+ years in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities
• 3+ years of clinical or administrative nursing experience
• BSN + 2 years of clinical or administrative experience
• 1+ year of survey experience is required

Technical Skills:

• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new platforms quickly

Soft Skills:

• Detail-oriented with strong investigative, analytical, and documentation abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively

Additional Requirements:

• SMQT certification preferred; must be obtained within 12 months of hire
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel for onsite investigations
