Program Lead

Civic (Re)Solve is seeking an experienced professional with an enthusiasm for strengthening American democracy to join our small team. This position is a full-time, remote, exempt position.

As a Program Lead at Civic (Re)Solve, you will help lead and strengthen our work to build durable and lasting solutions to support a multi-racial, thriving democracy. This position will work closely with the program team to design and oversee grantmaking and project management for one of our core strategies, and forge and maintain deep and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Specifically, this role will focus on our work in the South, including a portfolio of partners in Mississippi.

About Us Civic (Re)Solve is an impact investment fund seeking to shift the dynamics of power from an exclusive system that benefits few, to an equitable one that sustains all. We are in year 6 of?a 10-year pro-democracy campaign to build diverse and enduring civic capacity in communities throughout the United States. About the Empower Voters Portfolio Empower Voters is one of Civic (Re)Solve's three core strategies. It is grounded in a simple vision: that every eligible American?regardless of race, gender, political affiliation, geographic location, or economic status?has an equitable opportunity to easily register to vote, make an informed choice at the ballot box, and trust that their vote will be counted. The portfolio supports partners working to lower barriers to participation across three connected focus areas: voter registration and access, modern and secure election administration, and electoral reforms that produce more equitable and representative outcomes. This work is especially urgent in the South, and this role will steward partnerships and grantmaking specifically in the service of a dedicated Mississippi portfolio.

• Portfolio Management: Relationships, Analysis, Grants
• Lead and oversee the ?empower voters? portfolio of our work, including a set of partners in Mississippi; work in close partnership with the program team to build and maintain a pipeline of grantees to support emergent strategies and theories of change.
• Manage a portfolio of grants, including preparing grants for Board approval, and overseeing values-informed grantmaking processes.
• Build and maintain meaningful, trusting relationships with current and prospective grantees and other important sector stakeholders; identify opportunities for cross-programmatic collaboration or innovative shared support structures.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, humility and risk-tolerance among grantees, partners, program teams and consultants.
• Ensure grantmaking and grantee relationships center our values of equity, diversity, justice and inclusion.
• Communications and Outreach
• Produce regular written reports and materials for internal and external stakeholders and grantees.
• Strengthen and maintain deep relationships with funders and other partners and allies in the pro-democracy ecosystem.
• Issue-spot and surface gaps, challenges and opportunities.
• Regularly and clearly communicate and collaborate with internal team members.
• Leadership
• Develop, manage and contribute to cross-programmatic initiatives and special projects.
• Participate actively as a part of the philanthropic community.
• Participate in strategic planning and learning agendas, collaborate with the program team to set ambitious goals and clear priorities.
• Maintain agility. Civic (Re)Solve is a small team and we?re all-hands-on-deck. In a rapidly changing environment, this role may be responsible for other special projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
• A self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented: Operates with autonomy, takes initiative without waiting to be asked, and is comfortable building structure. Already has, or can quickly create, a system for keeping details from slipping through the cracks. Notices errors that others might overlook and circles back to fix them; has a track record of leaving things better than they found them. Able to quickly gather in-depth information, conducting and synthesizing research on organizations, events, subjects, and trends. Loves attending to details large and small and providing service to team and partners.
• A strategic thinker and systems manager: Comfortable with emergent strategies in a dynamic political landscape. Has a track record of managing projects to priorities and deadlines, assigning next steps in a manner that sets team members up for success, and staying engaged as appropriate. Is comfortable and capable of managing up.
• Adept communication and relationship-building: Honest and proactive in communication, asks questions, and is open to feedback. Demonstrated record of effective work with communities we serve. Able to put people at ease, especially when there are cultural or communication differences. Can adapt to new ideas and priorities. Follows through on commitments. Builds authentic relationships with others based on mutual trust and respect across lines of difference.
• Subject-matter experience in democracy work: Background in voting rights, election administration, voter engagement, civic participation, or related fields.
• Deep familiarity with the South: Lived or extensive professional experience in the US South ? particularly Mississippi ? and a nuanced understanding of the region's political history, communities, and civic landscape. Existing relationships with Southern organizers, organizations, or funders are a strong plus.

• Ability to travel: While the role is remote, monthly travel to meet with the Civic (Re)Solve team, partners, and our broader community is expected.

Benefits We aim to be a responsible and supportive employer and cultivate a fun and inclusive work environment. The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $190,000-$225,000 depending on experience.
