JOB SUMMARY Kutak Rock LLP seeks an experienced paralegal to join its Omaha, NE office. This position will work with lawyers and staff within various groups of the corporate department. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys client interactions, project management and corporate transactions with the use of sophisticated and dynamic technology platforms while working in a collaborative and collegial environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Format to firm standards and compile documents and exhibits from various sources Coordinate workflow for attorneys, delegating specific tasks to other teams while providing a timely and high-quality end product Prepare first drafts of documents including transactions, contracts, agreements, and court documents Attend drafting sessions and make revisions to primary documents Coordinate the distribution of documents to participants Facilitate work with various consultants and experts for client matters Conduct research in case law, statutes, regulations and other legal resources when necessary Type, transcribe, revise, and proofread legal documents accurately, prioritize assignments, and meet specific deadlines on projects, using internal programs for document revision and clean-up Prepare and process new matter forms, request conflict checks, and open new files Utilize Document Management System and Email Management System for individual capacity and in support of attorneys Coordinate execution and delivery of documents, including organization and preparation Manage, organize, update and conduct initial reviews of due diligence documentation, including accessing, downloading, uploading and organizing materials from and to various virtual data rooms and document portals, and providing access to attorneys Handle routine correspondence and maintain email and telephone contact with clients as needed Communicate with clients, request information and provide updates when needed Accurately enter time and expense records; prepare expense memoranda and documentation Coordinate client billing matters, prepare billing letters and other requested client financial update Serve as cross functional point of contact for special projects to support workflow in working groups Organize and maintain electronic and paper filings with state and federal agencies Handle accounting responsibilities Assist with other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities Ability to organize large quantities of information Ability to work well under the pressures of deadlines and prioritize assignments Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team, independently or unsupervised Strong attention to detail Excellent spelling, grammar, formatting, and proofreading skills Excellent project management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretion Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an aptitude to interface with attorneys, clients, staff, and firm visitors Ability and desire to learn and adapt new skills and technologies quickly Knowledge of PC and Windows applications Proficiency in document comparison software (Litera) Experience with PDF, Kofax, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Sharepoint, Intralinks, and other virtual data room and project management applications QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High school (or equivalent) required; preference given to those with a Bachelor's degree and/or successful completion of an accredited legal assistant or paralegal program 5+ years experience in technology and corporate transactions in a law firm/internal corporate law department Experience with project and information management Position Information Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000, commensurate with education and experience Position Status: Non-exempt Workplace Type: Hybrid, after an introductory period, with manager approval.
