Maintenance Worker - Weekend (2025)

The Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority is seeking a Maintenance Worker for immediate hire to join our team. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing general maintenance and repair work on buildings, facilities, and equipment.
• Conducting landscaping and groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, litter and trash pickups.
• Assisting in the maintenance and repair of docks, piers, and other waterfront structures.
• The operation of varying types of equipment and vehicles ranging from small lawn care equipment to backhoes and tractors, and their respective attachments. Also including golf carts, pickup and dump trucks.
• Being part of the boat storage operation including haul out, storage, and launch of larger vessels. This will include the operation of a Marine Travelift. On the job training will be provided.
• Assisting with the setup and teardown of various summer events.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate should have a valid driver's license and the ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Previous experience in general maintenance and repairs is preferred.

This is a seasonal position with the opportunity for growth within the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority. Currently we are filling weekend shifts only.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Previous experience in general maintenance and repairs.
• Experience using hand tools, landscape equipment, and power tools is necessary.
• Having experience in the marina industry including boat hauling and Travilift operation is a plus but not required.
• Must be familiar with water safety techniques and be comfortable working on and around the water.
