MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for a Paralegal in our O?Fallon or Edwardsville offices.

MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm?s expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the client attorney handling asbestos clients, national counsel and carriers for asbestos client(s)
  • Provide assistance to the client attorney by maintaining client contact information and product information for asbestos client(s)
  • Cooperate with assigned partner, docket attorney and client attorney for asbestos client(s)
  • Track and maintain trial dates
  • Maintain and update reminders for project deadlines for asbestos client(s)
  • Acknowledge and complete New Complaint Intake Sheet of new complaints/petitions for asbestos client(s)
  • Coordinate with client attorney on witness disclosures, responsive pleadings and pre-trial deadlines for asbestos clients(s)
  • Monitor scheduled depositions for asbestos client(s)
  • Update case management program with deposition information and product identification information
  • Prepare and update Trial Exhibit Lists including letters adopting master lists
  • Prepare and file Discovery responses
  • Adhere to asbestos client(s) reporting requirements
  • Pre-trial preparations
  • Prepare for and attend bi-monthly watchlist meetings

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
  • Organization: Multi-task and prioritize effectively; thrive in a fast-paced environment; work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Dependability: Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; act with a sense of urgency when needed; work independently and self-motivated
  • Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
