Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in the USA. This position will be based at our Fort Lauderdale office and will support our central legal team on all U.S.-related matters. The Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with the legal and compliance teams in France, acting as a bridge between our U.S. operations and the group?s headquarters. This role is integral to the growth and structuring of Daher?s legal and compliance functions as the group continues its strategic development.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Legal Support for U.S. Operations: Serve as the primary legal advisor for U.S. contracts, compliance, litigation, and other relevant matters, providing support to the central legal team based in France.
  • Commercial Contracts: Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of contracts with clients and suppliers across all Daher divisions, always in coordination with the respective divisional legal managers, the procurement legal manager, and the compliance officer in France.
  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Assist on U.S. litigation matters up to a specified level of criticality, beyond which cases will be escalated to the central legal team in France for strategic oversight, while continuing to provide support.
  • Compliance Implementation Support the French legal team on deployment of the group's compliance policies in the U.S., covering areas such as antitrust, anti-corruption, export control, GDPR, KYC/KYS, gift policies, and more. Ensure these policies are adapted to and aligned with U.S. regulations and specific legal requirements.
  • Local Compliance Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for compliance matters in the U.S., providing guidance and support to local teams on adherence to both group standards and U.S. legal frameworks.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Support M&A activities as needed, working alongside the central team to manage due diligence processes and integration efforts.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the central legal and compliance teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between the U.S. and French offices.
  • Development of Legal Function: Contribute to the ongoing structuring and development of Daher?s global legal and compliance function, aligning U.S. operations with the group?s strategic objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree. Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. state.
  • Experience: 10 to 15 years of legal experience, ideally combining law firm and in-house roles within the aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Expertise: Solid experience in commercial contracts, compliance, litigation, and exposure to M&A transactions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, supporting and collaborating with colleagues across different locations.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on providing practical, value-adding legal solutions.
    • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.

Profile and other information related to the position
  • Compensation is $170,000 - $195,000 base salary plus annual target bonus. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
