We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Backend Engineer to drive the architecture, scalability, and performance of a fast-growing conversational CRM platform powered by WhatsApp Business APIs. This role is ideal for an experienced backend professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, leading teams, and building scalable systems in a high-growth environment. As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of backend development initiatives, mentor a team of engineers, and contribute directly to the design and implementation of robust, high-performance backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions aligned with business goals. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who can guide engineering teams while actively contributing to architecture, coding, and system optimization. Requirements Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a backend engineering team, ensuring high-quality code delivery and engineering best practices
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks
• Build and optimize high-performance APIs and distributed backend systems
• Architect and manage database solutions using PostgreSQL and other database technologies
• Design scalable data models and implement efficient data storage and retrieval strategies
• Work on system scalability, performance optimization, and backend reliability improvements
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to align technical solutions with business requirements
• Conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and improve engineering processes
• Manage project timelines, technical planning, and delivery execution
• Troubleshoot complex backend and production issues while ensuring system stability
• Contribute to architecture decisions and backend technology evolution

• Strong experience in backend development with expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL
• Proven ability to design scalable backend architectures and database systems
• Hands-on experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and backend scalability
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile product environments
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities across teams
• Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on development responsibilities
• Familiarity with technologies such as TypeScript, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or cloud platforms is an added advantage
