Job Description


Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 4-5 years of business litigation experience to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in our Chicago, Detroit, or Milwaukee office. Qualified candidate must be a persuasive legal writer and oral advocate and will have substantial experience with complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts, including conducting and managing written and document discovery, researching and drafting pleadings, motions and other court filings, conducting/defending depositions, preparing witnesses for testimony, appearing for status conferences, and arguing motions in both state and federal court. Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations and experience with trial preparation is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, an exceptional work ethic, and must be comfortable having direct interaction with partners and clients. We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to thrive in a sophisticated practice in a busy, collaborative environment, to assist with advancing the long-term strategic objectives of our Litigation Department. To be considered, candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction coinciding with the office of hire. The expected salary range for this position is between $290,000-$390,000.
