C4P - Cloud Platform Software Engineering Leader (People Leader)

What You'll Do (Roles & responsibilities)

Perform as a Cisco Common Cloud Computing Platform (C4P) service development engineering leader. You will lead an experienced team of development and DevOps engineers using industry standard DevOps and CloudOps tools to build, deploy and operate critical services enabling Cisco SaaS capabilities that sit atop C4P in multiple cloud service provider's IaaS systems both public and regulated.

Who You'll Work With

In this role, you will work in the Security & Trust Organizations' Government Solutions (GSO) team. The hiring manager for this role is the C4P service owner and GSO Market Access Platform Team leader. This role will cut across multiple functions inside GSO, internally across Cisco with multiple engineering business units and externally with our customers. It is a highly dynamic, fast paced role, where the selected candidate will be on the cutting edge of Cloud Operations, DevOps as applied to Cisco's products pursuing various government cloud deployments and certifications. This specific role will be working with a cross functional team spanning Cisco US Federal Sales teams, Cisco Development Engineering, Corporate IT & Government IT teams. It is a highly impactful role and a great place to learn and apply multi-disciplinary skills across the cloud infrastructure deployment, SaaS cloud deployment and cross domain service architecture and operations.

Who You Are

It will require Leadership, CloudOps and DevOps experience. The successful candidate will thrive in a highly dynamic, pathfinder environment. This position requires:

Demonstrated ability to lead a team deploying and supporting production DevOps services and capabilities

Experience leading projects with significant software development tasks

Functional knowledge of current DevOps best practices

Experience working within an Agile environment and working with product management to understand, refine and document design requirements

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure deployment and services is required. Knowledge of these tools is highly desired:

AWS CloudOps, Landing Zone Accelerator

IaC solutions (terraform/terragrunt preferred)

Kubernetes (EKS preferred)

TCP/IP networking

Gitlab CI

Minimum requirements:

BS or MS in computer science, information technology or other related field. Bachelors with 8 years of related experience, or Masters with 6 years of related experience.

Prior team/people leadership experience with a technical cadre of direct reports

3 or more years of experience with Amazon (AWS) Cloud Infrastructure deployment and DevOps deployment, with a background as a Software Developer/Engineer.

Preferred requirements:

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment experience.

Proficiency with EKS/Kubernetes and Helm.

Experience using Ansible for configuration management tasks.

Familiarity with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning.

Experience with GitLab CI for continuous integration processes.

Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.
