Software Developer SkillBridge Internship

Idea Entity is offering a SkillBridge internship for a Software Developer Intern, tailored to your experience. This internship will immerse you in the agile processes utilized by Idea Entity, which provides innovative solutions to a variety of business process challenges for our clients. During the internship, you will join the development team on one or multiple projects, taking responsibility for creating solutions from the initial system design through to delivery to the customer. As a SkillBridge partner, Idea Entity offers a 34-month (90120 days) internship. Throughout your SkillBridge Internship, you will be part of a team dedicated to modernizing our clients' operations and implementing our RhyBus solutions.

This role is a SkillBridge Internship role, operating on a hybrid schedule out of our Herndon, VA office with two (2) telework days a week. You must be a transitioning active-duty military member to be considered for this internship.

Program Overview

This unpaid internship is offered through the DOD SkillBridge program for transitioning active-duty military members. The SkillBridge internship is designed to provide these members with valuable experience in the civilian workforce during their final 180 days of active duty. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow existing members of Idea Entity and apply their learning to real-world situations. The Service member participating in SkillBridge receives their military compensation and benefits, and industry partners provide the training and work experience. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent and your unit Commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement.

• Must be Active Duty Military Personnel
• Must be an active military member of the U.S. Military with 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to the date of separation and have at least 180 continuous days of active service.

• Basic experience with React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Typescript, jQuery, and REST API.
• Basic understanding of client-side scripting and debugging client-side scripts.
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
• Knowledge of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
• Awareness of recent UI design and development standards and trends.
• Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and related complexities simultaneously.
• Active collaboration with others in a cross-functional team.

Preferred Requirements

• Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory, and typography.
• Experience in developing software using disciplined analysis, design, development, and test methods.
• Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile platforms, with innovative approaches to overcome them.
• Interest and ability to learn additional coding languages as needed.
• Experience in developing best-in-class consumer experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) in a fast-paced, agile, start-up-like environment.
• Must be responsive, flexible, and able to thrive in an open and collaborative peer environment.
• Prior experience with PnPjs APIs.
• Basic hands-on experience with developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Basic hands-on experience with developing custom client scripts for SharePoint.
