Job Description:
Pay: $35 - $40/hr
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bilingual (English/Mandarin) Living Environment Tutor to join our team in Queens. In this role, you will provide in-person tutoring to high school students during the school day, focusing exclusively on Living Environment (Biology) concepts and exam preparation. Your fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential for effectively engaging English language learners whose primary language is Mandarin.

Compensation and Schedule:

• Target Launch Date: April 8, 2025
• Schedule: 4 five-hour days each week
• Pay: $35 - $40 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to help students master Living Environment concepts and prepare for the Regents exam.
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of each student, with a special focus on English language learners.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to keep students engaged and motivated.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Biology, or a related field.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin, including strong proficiency in biology terminology and the ability to teach biology effectively in Mandarin .
• Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school Biology.
• Familiarity with the New York State Regents exams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Candidates who have been fingerprinted by the NYCDOE are strongly preferred
