Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Background Investigation: This position is designated as Non-sensitive/Low Risk and requires that a background investigation be conducted and favorably adjudicated in order to establish security eligibility. Please note this position is being filled under Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-272) to support implementation of the FY2025 Disaster Supplemental Program and other EDA programs. Individuals selected for these positions will be employed in the Excepted Service for a period not-to-exceed two (2) years.
