Our Enforcement Division?s staff attorney must be a self-starter, with a positive outlook, who is detail oriented and enjoys working with a team. The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as excellent time management skills.
As the division staff attorney, you will join a team of compliance officers and criminal investigators who work with businesses operating in Georgia to assure compliance under the workers' compensation law, to deter fraud through education, public relations and investigations, and to enforce the rules and regulations of the Workers' Compensation Board. In cases of non-compliance, you will negotiate settlement of cases, draft and file the appropriate documents with the court, and when appropriate prepare for hearings and litigate the cases in before the Board?s Administrative Law Judges. In support of the Board?s mission to educate and provide excellent public relations, you also may have the opportunity to represent the Board on committees, in meetings at training events, and work on other special projects, as needed.

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as impressive time management, legal research & writing skills, knowledge of judicial procedures & rules of evidence, the ability to determine compliance with the rules and regulations of workers? compensation law, and the ability to determine the sufficiency of the information.
Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of a law degree AND License to practice law in the State of Georgia OR Eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination OR Reciprocity.
