About this role

What team will you be on?

The Index Asset Allocation team is part of Index Equity Investments within the BlackRock Global Markets (?BGM?) organization. The team is responsible for managing the portfolio implementation of a large number of Equity, Fixed Income, and multi asset fund of funds for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution clients in US and Canada. The book of business includes BlackRock's LifePath Index suites, Target Allocation Funds, and a number of allocated collective investment funds and separate accounts. In addition to day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities, you will be expected to acquire new skills and apply them in order to improve fund performance, internal processes, investment solutions, performance attribution, and investment tools/platform.

What will you be doing?

Performing daily fund management tasks, including handling client contributions and redemptions, portfolio rebalancing, ensuring that portfolios track within performance expectations, and performance attribution

Applying market experience and knowledge of index construction to portfolio management and designing investment solutions

Partnering with developers to enhance and transform business tools and processes

Supporting management and client facing groups in reporting business metrics and ad-hoc requests

Partnering with internal stakeholders in managing new fund launches and restructures

Analyzing datasets and leveraging coding to drive investment outcomes

Building expertise in managing large scale portfolio management processes as well as managing complexity around mandate changes, transitions or market events

Building strong working relationships with internal teams in Index Equity, Fixed Income, FX, Trading, Risk & Quantitative Analyis, Business Operations, Client Business, and others

What are we looking for?

2+ years within the financial services industry

Bachelor's degree in finance, data science, or related field

An interest in financial markets and portfolio management

Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while producing a high-quality work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills

Curious and self-motivated. Attention to detail.

SQL, Python or any coding experience is a plus

Flexible to work market hours

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
