Role purpose A&O Shearman seeks an accomplished associate to join our New York office with 5-7 years of experience focused on all aspects of broker-dealer regulatory. Our Financial Services Regulatory practice focuses on both US and multinational transactions, and our lawyers deliver an integrated service on complex global matters. We represent a broad range of clients, such as financial institutions, hedge funds, private banks, asset managers, trade associations, on all aspects of financial matters, and across all industries. Qualified candidates should have meaningful broker-dealer experience and excellent academic credentials as well as major law firm experience. New York qualified is ideal but not required. The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $435,000 depending on the candidate?s JD year. We offer competitive compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan. Role and responsibilities Robust focus on all aspects of broker-dealer regulatory. Drafting broker-deals with financial institutions, hedge funds, private banks, asset managers, trade associations clientele. Counsel U.S. and non-U.S. clients on investment strategies. Contacting clients and managing deals. Minimum Requirements A Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school. Must be admitted, and in good standing, to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice; or must provide written confirmation as to ability to become admitted in that State or District. Previous Financial Services Regulatory experience Preferred Requirements Analytical, research, and writing skills. Ability to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively. Class years 2019-2017.
