Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Attorney specializing in insurance coverage, bad faith, and complex tort and business litigation to join a mid-sized law firm in Glendale, California. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience, although exceptional candidates with 3-4 years of experience will also be considered.

Requirements

• Manage a caseload involving insurance coverage, bad faith, and other complex tort and business litigation matters.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.
• Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and represent clients in court proceedings.
• Provide comprehensive coverage opinions for first-party and/or third-party claims.
• Demonstrate strong research and writing skills for legal briefs, motions, and other documents.
• Handle diverse law and motion practice in both state and federal courts.
• Provide appellate support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
• 3-10 years of experience in insurance coverage, bad faith, or related litigation fields.
• Strong research and writing skills with demonstrated ability to draft coverage opinions and legal briefs.
• Experience managing a caseload and conducting depositions.
• Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
• Appellate experience is a plus.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 annually, along with full HMO/medical coverage and other benefits.
