Job Description


Associate - Asbestos

The Pittsburgh/Weirton offices is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to work in the firm?s Asbestos Litigation practice group.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage asbestos litigation defense cases from inception to resolution.
  • Prepare and respond to pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial motions in complex toxic tort litigation.
  • Work with experts to develop evidence and support claims.
  • Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, including trial when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and case notes in litigation databases.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:

  • Broad working understanding of Asbestos exposure and related diseases.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to organize and manage cases.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bars.
  • 3 plus years of experience in defense litigation and preferably in Asbestos/Toxic Tort litigation.
