Job Description
The Pittsburgh/Weirton offices is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to work in the firm?s Asbestos Litigation practice group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage asbestos litigation defense cases from inception to resolution.
- Prepare and respond to pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial motions in complex toxic tort litigation.
- Work with experts to develop evidence and support claims.
- Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, including trial when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation and case notes in litigation databases.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
- Broad working understanding of Asbestos exposure and related diseases.
- Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel.
- Ability to organize and manage cases.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bars.
- 3 plus years of experience in defense litigation and preferably in Asbestos/Toxic Tort litigation.
