Job Duties

The successful candidate will defend the Commonwealth, its agencies and officials in state and federal courts, with a focus on employment-related claims. The representation will include drafting pleadings and briefs, conducting all aspects of discovery, overseeing investigations, providing advice to clients throughout the course of litigation, making court appearances, handling all aspects of a trial, and occasional appellate work.

Minimum Qualifications

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar required.
  
• The position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in time management, and the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  
• Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and adjust priorities without close supervision.
  
• A demonstrated proficiency in client counseling and in providing training on employment matters is also desirable.
  
• The successful candidate must possess a valid driver?s license and will be subject to a criminal background check.
  
• Occasional overnight travel will be required.

Additional Considerations

A minimum of three to five (5) years practicing employment law preferred.
