This role within Amazon One Medical?s Accounting team will partner across finance, sales, customer success, tech, legal and business partners to lead management of various aspects of revenue recognition, accounting month-end close, controllership initiatives, and new projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a complex, high-growth stage, multi-disciplinary organization. The candidate will possess an ability to influence members of cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver operationalization of complex accounting projects. The candidate will also have technical accounting experience and the ability to clearly present key accounting concepts to leadership. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.

Key job responsibilities

Research and analyze technical revenue accounting guidance and writing technical accounting position papers.

End-to-end revenue process ownership to support accounting and business partners.

Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.

Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership.

Strong sense of ownership.

Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.

Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.

Basic Qualifications

BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master?s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

7+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

MBA, or CPA

Knowledge of SQL/ETL

Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
