A vascular sonographer, also known as a vascular technologist, is a healthcare professional who uses sound waves to create images of a patient's blood vessels. This is done using ultrasound technology. The images are then used for diagnostic purposes.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled vascular sonographer for our practice. As a vascular sonographer, your responsibilities will include preparing patients for scans, operating ultrasound equipment, and working with doctors to analyze the images.

To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to accurately interpret sonograms and provide excellent patient care. A good vascular sonographer pays close attention to detail and can explain technical diagnoses in simple terms for patients to understand.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain patient medical records.
  • Ensure that all equipment and examination rooms are clean and properly sterilized.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound and plethysmography equipment.
  • Perform sonographic examinations to produce images of the patient's blood vessels.
  • Create reports and documentation based on the sonogram results.
  • Assist doctors in reviewing and interpreting the ultrasound images.
  • Communicate and explain the results of the ultrasound to patients.
  • Manage patient schedules and file diagnostic reports.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in sonography technology and techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in vascular technology, sonography, radiology, or a related field.
  • ARDMS credential, such as registered vascular technologist (RVT).
  • ACLS certification is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a vascular sonographer.
  • Strong knowledge of sonography technology, including plethysmographs and ultrasound equipment.
  • Familiarity with patient medical software, such as NueHD, DrChrono, and CareCloud Charts.
  • Excellent diagnostic and interpretive abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide high-quality patient care.
