Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated sonographer to assist our doctors in diagnosing and monitoring conditions like pregnancy and diseases like cancer. The sonographer will directly work with patients and use specialized equipment to capture images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses. They may also perform prenatal ultrasound scans.
To be successful as a sonographer, you should have excellent communication and patient service skills. You should also have good eyesight and attention to detail, along with technical and decision-making abilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Explain sonographic procedures to patients, answer their questions, and prepare them for the scan.
- Ensure clear images for diagnosis by adjusting the equipment and patients' positions as needed.
- Monitor and care for patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Select and examine images, looking for any abnormalities or differences between healthy and diseased areas.
- Present findings to the doctor for further evaluation.
- Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist doctors and healthcare teams during invasive procedures.
- Maintain and clean the sonographic equipment.
- Perform medical procedures, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs, and providing emergency care.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in sonography.
