We are looking for a surgical coordinator who is detail-oriented and organized. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments with the surgeon, answering phone calls, filling out paperwork, and managing all aspects of patients' surgical procedures. You will also work with insurance companies and handle billing for patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathering and verifying patients' information and insurance details.
- Answering phone calls and emails and providing information about appointments and surgical procedures.
- Preparing and sending bills to insurance companies.
- Assisting patients with paperwork and check-in procedures.
- Scheduling appointments and surgeries, sending reminders to patients, and handling emergency and add-on surgeries.
- Making sure all necessary equipment and rooms are prepared for surgeries.
- Understanding different surgical procedures and their requirements to maintain a proper schedule.
- Providing patients with pre and post-operative instructions.
- Maintaining and managing surgical documents and records.
- Ensuring surgeries are scheduled in a timely manner as directed by the surgeon.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in clerical or administrative work is preferred.
- Good computer skills and the ability to use telephones and type quickly.
