To do well as a real estate paralegal, you should know a lot about real estate and have experience doing a similar job. A great real estate paralegal is someone who knows a lot and helps real estate deals get done on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make sure contracts, leases, and closing documents are correct.
  • Look at different ways to finance a property, rules for borrowing money, papers that say who owns a property, and claims about bankruptcy.
  • Talk to property owners, landlords, clients, and lawyers.
  • Research and give out real estate papers.
  • Read documents about who owns a property and give information about them.
  • Write down things that need to be done, and keep electronic and paper records.
  • Answer clients' questions and tell someone if there is a big problem.
  • Tell clients about what is happening with their real estate deals.
  • Send in correct legal papers on time.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies or something similar.
  • Certificate for being a paralegal with a focus on real estate after getting a college degree is good to have.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a real estate paralegal.
  • Know a lot about real estate papers, contracts, applications, and sending things in.
  • Know how to use computer programs for legal projects like Amberlo and Accelo.
  • Be really good at organizing, managing time, and doing more than one thing at once.
  • Work well with others and communicate well.
  • Pay close attention to small details.
  • Be able to work fast.
