We are looking for a public relations intern to join our PR department. In this role, you will work closely with the PR manager and assist with writing media releases, scheduling PR events, conducting research, and more. You will also collaborate with staff from other departments to determine their PR needs.

To be a successful PR intern, you should be a confident public speaker and have basic skills in copywriting and social media marketing. You should also be able to build relationships with media and marketing suppliers, and constantly seek ways to improve the company's image.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the PR manager with implementing the company's PR strategy.
  • Create engaging content for media releases, social media, and newsletters.
  • Maintain and update the company's social media pages.
  • Build relationships with clients, potential clients, suppliers, and media outlets.
  • Provide support to the PR manager in scheduling and organizing events.
  • Suggest creative ideas to improve the company's public image.
  • Research and analyze the marketing efforts of competitors.
  • Monitor media coverage and create press clippings.
  • Update media lists.
  • Perform administrative tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BA or BSc degree in public relations, communication, or journalism.
  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic budget management skills to track spending on sponsorships, events, and marketing materials.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with customers.
